Terms of service

Silentfrog is provided by Goodaim, Maximilian Lorenz, Zenettistraße 47, 80337 München, Germany (“we”). Email: hi@silentfrog.dev. Full details are in the imprint.

These terms apply to the web app at silentfrog.app, to the Silentfrog app inside the Webflow Designer, and to the Silentfrog desktop app. By using any of them you accept these terms.

Silentfrog builds a 301 redirect map for a website relaunch. It fetches the pages of an old site and a new site (or, in the Webflow Designer, reads the new site through the Webflow API), matches every old URL to a new page, and lets you review, correct and export the result — as a CSV file, or, where your Webflow plan allows it, written straight into your Webflow site.

The matching is automatic and therefore a suggestion. The tool marks each match with a confidence score and sorts the uncertain ones to the top so you can check them. You review the map and decide what gets exported or written. We do not check your redirects for you, and we cannot know which page is the right target on your site.

Free. Every project starts free and covers up to 50 pages of the old site, so you can see the complete matched table before paying anything. Only pages of the old site count towards the limit; the new site is always included.

Medium (46 €, up to 150 pages of the old site) and Unlimited (150 €, no page limit) are paid once and cover one relaunch: the licence key binds to your project — the old and new site you entered, and in the Designer additionally the Webflow site you redeemed it in — the moment you redeem it, and cannot be moved to another project afterwards. A relaunch of a different site is a new purchase.

Lifetime (249 €) is the desktop app. It is paid once, has no page limit, covers every project you open in the app, and can be active on up to three machines at a time. It includes the updates we publish for the desktop app; it does not include the hosted web app or the Designer extension, which have their own plans.

On the hosted service a single crawl stops at 2,000 pages per site, regardless of plan. The desktop app has no such cap because it crawls from your own machine. Prices are shown in euros; the checkout shows the final amount including any tax that applies to you.

Purchases run through Polar Software Inc. as merchant of record: Polar is the seller on your invoice, handles the payment, and issues the licence key. Polar’s terms apply to the purchase itself. Your statutory rights as a consumer, including any right of withdrawal, are unaffected by anything on this page.

There is no account. The licence key is the only proof of purchase you need, and it is stored in your browser (or, for the desktop app, on your machine). Keep it: if you clear your browser storage you can redeem the same key again for the same project, but not for a different one.

If something does not work as described, write to us before you ask for a refund and we will try to fix it. Refunds are handled case by case by a person reading hi@silentfrog.dev; there is no automated refund flow. The free plan exists so that you can judge the result before you pay.

You may only point Silentfrog at sites you own, operate, or are authorised to crawl for the purpose of a relaunch — your own site, or a client’s site with their agreement. You are responsible for that authorisation and for anything the crawl causes on the target site. Our server fetches the pages you name on your behalf; it reads public pages and follows public links, and it does not log in anywhere.

Do not use the service to mirror or extract other people’s sites, to test the limits of a server that is not yours, or in any way that breaks the law or a third party’s terms. We may stop a crawl or block access without notice if we see abuse, and we may refuse service where we have reason to believe these terms are being broken.

The extension runs inside the Webflow Designer and needs your permission, granted through Webflow’s own authorisation screen, to read your site’s pages and CMS items and to write redirects. It reads only the site you open it in, and it writes a redirect only when you press the button that does so. Webflow’s own terms of service apply to your use of Webflow and its API alongside these terms.

Whether redirects can be written through the API depends on your Webflow plan; on plans without that access the extension gives you the CSV in Webflow’s import format instead. Both paths depend on Webflow’s API and Designer behaving as documented, which we do not control. You can revoke the extension’s access at any time in your Webflow site settings.

The desktop app is licensed, not sold. With a Lifetime key you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use it on up to three machines at a time. You may not redistribute it, resell it, or remove or circumvent the licence check.

The app is currently signed with a developer certificate that macOS does not recognise as notarised, so the first launch needs the “Open anyway” step in System Settings; the download page explains it. It runs entirely on your machine and contacts our server only to activate the key and to check for updates.

We run the hosted service with care but promise no particular uptime, and we may change, pause or discontinue features. The free tier, the page caps and the prices may change for future purchases; a key you have already redeemed keeps the allowance it was sold with. If we ever shut the hosted service down, we will say so on this site in advance, and the desktop app keeps working regardless because it does not depend on our server for crawling.

Your work is saved in your browser, not with us, so we cannot recover it for you. Use save file in the tool to keep a copy you control.

The free plan is provided as it is. For paid plans we warrant that the service does what this site describes; where it does not, we will fix it or refund you as set out above.

We are liable without limit for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. For simple negligence we are liable only for breach of an obligation whose fulfilment the contract depends on and which you were entitled to rely on, and then only for the damage that was foreseeable and typical for this kind of service at the time of purchase. Any other liability is excluded. In particular, we are not liable for the consequences of a redirect map you exported or wrote without reviewing it, for lost rankings or traffic, or for anything that happens on the sites you crawl.

Silentfrog, its code, design and documentation are ours. Everything you produce with it — the redirect map, the CSV files, the project file — is yours; we never see it and claim no rights in it.

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country you live in remain unaffected. If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the courts of Munich have exclusive jurisdiction.

We may update these terms; the version on this page at the time of your purchase is the one that applies to that purchase. If a provision is invalid, the rest remains in force. We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

These terms describe how the service actually works. The legal wording has not yet been reviewed by a qualified lawyer.
